Claire Keville -
Claire Keville comes from
Claran in County Galway. Her family’s interest in music was
very strong on both sides –her maternal grandfather played
the whistle and melodeon and her paternal grandmother played
the melodeon. She has always been drawn to the music and
repertoire of East Galway.
She
recently released a CD entitled “An Trí is a Rian” which was
launched in July 2004 at the Willie Clancy Summer School.
In addition to hosting a traditional music program (Music in
the Glen) on Ireland’s Clare-FM, Claire works as a teacher
and gives workshops in Irish traditional music
Pat O’Connor -
Pat O'Connor is a
fiddle player from East Clare whose music has the moderate
pace and easy flow associated with that region. Pat's first
solo CD"TheGreenMountain," features the musician's unhurried
brand of fiddle playing. His second CD release, “The Humours
Of Derrybeha”, is very much in the same vein, To hear Pat’s
playing of the air "Maro ma Maestrez" (My Love is dead) is
to experience the lonesome touch.
Pat is a native of
Ennis,
County
Clare, but now lives in Feakle, East Clare. He started playing
music on the piano and ended up playing the fiddle.
